6:30pm on Saturday April 28, 2012.
Well, we are arriving back in Accra today after being away for a few days.  We went back to the island today for the last time.  Our family gave everyone coconuts and had us sit for a while.  It was nice to see Beatrice and her husband, Prospa (1.5), Vita (5), Richmond (4), Titi (24) and his wife (22), even Elijah? (17) was there… he was the one who cut the coconuts mostly.  I was taking pictures of Beatrice and Elijah as they were cutting the coconuts and Richmond, just lifted his shirt and took a wiz right there wih all of us just sitting there.  I didn’t realize that he had walked right into my camera path, so I have some disturbing photos of him. (yikes)  I guess it proves that our project is meaningful.  Especially when he had an outdoor toilet he could use not even 10 feet away.  Granted he is only about 4, but still.
This morning we packed up from Chances hotel and drove to Tema.  In Tema we stopped at the Ghana MTC.  We didn’t actually see any of the missionaries, but we saw their housing and we are going back to have Sister Grahm, the MTC president’s wife come with us to the SOS Children’s Village.  Then we will see a unique health presentation to the missionaries in the MTC.  It will be graphic K
After the MTC we were going to go to a coffin shop, but we sort of lost our way a bit, and ended up not finding it.  I did however get some photos of unique shaped coffins.  They were literally shaped like a Taxi, a small taker truck, and a large semi.  The book at the Alma house has photos of a coffin shaped like a chicken.  It is a normal thing here to have odd shaped coffins.
We passed a car that was literally on fire today, that was way creepy and it made me realize how fleeting everything is.
After the MTC, we drove to the harbor again to go to a new island for EPI.  This island has one of the new merry-go-rounds on it.  School is out right now, so there were not many kids around, but we saw ducks for the first time!
Then we went back to the harbor and picked up Issac, George, and Dr. Facer.  Dr. Facer wasn’t able to come until today because he was in Puerto Rico at a NASPA conference.  Remember that Issac and George work for EPI too.  We met up with Dr. Jake on Pediatorkope Island.  We looked at the painting that we did last Monday.  Much of it is already worn off due to use and kids not allowing it to dry properly.  We shouldn’t have watered the paint down so much.  Then we walked to the family that we stayed with.  They brought out chairs and had us sit for a while.  I pulled out the bubbles for Vita and Prospa (Dr. Facer took photos of this, remember to get copies from him).  Then our family actually brought us all coconuts!  Yeah!  That was fun.  Even though most of us didn’t want any coconuts, we felt obligated to stay and have them.  It wasn’t too bad since Gillian brought straws!  She even left them for our family.  Oh… and they brought us water sachets too!
After this, we trekked back to the boat, and went back to the mainland and headed for Accra and the Alma house.
·         Breakfast- eggs, toast, oatmeal(runny) that you put apricot jam and sugar and pour sweetened condensed milk over (all weird, but tasty!).
·         Lunch- energy bars, jerky, crackers and a cheese wedge (and other little snacks)
·         Dinner- Spaghetti noodles, sauce with lots of veggies, and fresh pineapple.

8 months later...

So... after creating this blog in October of 2008 it is about time to have our first post. Being inspired by some of our friends' blogs, we figured we could try. We completely understand if you don't visit much, we often think our life is boring too. However we have found that we have much to say and it's just the two of us, so something like this could be helpful, fun, and we hope not that boring.

With this we will say 'adieu' for the night! Hopefully it won't take us another 8 months for our second post :)
